*Fish at the Archipelagos of the Fishermen

The first westerners to Penghu call the archipelagos "Pescadores," which means "the Archipelagos of the fishermen." Thanks to the unique geography in Penghu, fishing is the most prosperous industries of all in Penghu. The large area of the surrounding ocean and the abundance of coral reefs stretching out as natural habitats for fish make the Penghu area a perfect natural fishing ground. The abundance of fish is not only demonstrated in quantity but also in variety. Many tropical fishes in bright colors and all kinds of strange shapes swim among the coral reefs and add to the beautiful scenery at the bottom of the sea among these archipelagos. We also have to mention the dolphins that call this area home. Schools of dolphins congregate at Penghu between December and March of the following year, forming a spectacular scene for all to enjoy.
