3. Fruits and vegetables

• Cantaloupe-The cantaloupe crop in Penghu is noted for its sweet and succulent juice. It is harvested from the middle of May to the end of June, primarily in Holiau and Kantze in Baisha Township and the Hokutan in Makung City.
  
  
• Chiapao melon-This fruit is a unique produce grown only in Penghu. It has an oval shape, smooth surface and golden yellow meat. The meat has a lot of juice and a light and refreshing flavor.
  
  
• l Angle squash-This squash is characterized by its sickle shape and multiple angles, which are very different from the squash produced in Taiwan. Stir fry squash and egg is a famous local treat. Cantaloupe, Chiapao melon and angle squash are the three unique types of melon and squash native to Penghu.
  
  
• l Peanuts-The sandy soil in Penghu makes it a perfect area for growing peanuts. Local crops are noted for their abundance and crispy taste.
