*Coral Forest

Coral forests are one of the unique features of the coastline of Penghu. They grow very near the coast where swimmers can easily get access to the waters around them to appreciate their beauty. These coral forests consist of mostly soft corals such as the so-called branch coral, fan-shape coral and soft coral. Though this beautiful and magnificent span of coral forests do not have any commercial value, they play an important ecological role.
